You would have those issues if the receiving end has a problem. You can
disable the notification messages if you don't want your users to know that
the message is delayed.
AOL has problems all the times with delays. It's not uncommon. You might
want to verify the NDR code in the logs though to be sure that's what it is.

We just installed a new Exchange Server 2003 Enterp. server
We have problem only sending to certain domains
I see on SMTP Que folder has these domains with different errors
Some domains with "An SMTP Protocol Error Occured"
Some domains like @arryx.com with "The connection droped due to and SMTP
Protocol event Sink" error
And people get Delay notification for AOL.com
Anyone have any idea, why exchange server would have these issues?
(Note: We have Novell Groupwise that we did not have issues with these
domains.
We took Groupwise offline and not using at the moment)
