I won't disagree, but I night suggest that your timeline could be a little
aggressive. Some DNS servers cache records for varying lengths of time.
Depending upon what your Time-out settings are, your timeline may be
aggressive. When we phase MX records, we shorten the Time to Live on our
zone to 6 hours, a week before the change. We then add the MX, and let it
bake another week before removing the original. Then we re-adjust the TTL
back to a higher range.
Your mileage may vary....
