Help with a mixed environment

I am currently building a test environment with Exchange
5.5 and Exchange 2003. I have Exchange 5.5 on a 2000 server
and I have built a 2000 Advanced server (for future
clustering). problem comes when I am trying to load up the
Exchange 2003 onto the Advanced Server. It will not join
with the 5.5 box.
Any and all guidance would be greatly appreciated.
