I have just tried telnet from the internal network and this works fine. I
then tried telnet from the external network and this also now works fine. I
cant be sure whether this is due to a change that I have made or whether I
completed the procedure incorrectly in the first instance.
I have then tried emailing the client from my network again using my mail
server but this again fails with NDR
There was an SMTP communication problem with the recipients server - 5.5.0
Yes there is a firewall/router and this is set up to forward all requests on
Port 25 to the internal IP of the mail server. to the best of my knowledge
this appears to working correctly. I am not aware of another SMTP servers or
other devices listening on Port 25.
