Hi,
I have an new Win/Exchange 2003 system and an old nt4\exchange 5.5 system. I need to provide a routing and directory synchronisation solution between them.
I have the following plan.
Assuming that all external mail is delivered into the 5.5 I have the following configuration.
In 2003 I have 2 policies defined so that the namespace (Which is common between both systems) is shared. I have an SMTP connector that forwards the mail from 2003 to 5.5 based on the domain.
In 5.5 I have configured the IMS to send all mails with a false namespace of internal.com to the 2003 smtp connector.
In 2003 all my mailboxes have two address namespaces - @ACME.COM and @internal.com. The ACME.COM address is the PR address.
In 5.5 I have one namespace which is just ACME.COM
In 2003 I have mail enabled contacts defined for the 5.5. users with the address @ACME.COM. When a mail user in the new system send to one of these mail enabled contacts the message is redirected to the 5.5 IMS correctly.
In 5.5 I have a set of custom recipients defined with two addresses:
@internal.com - The Primary Reply Address
@ACME.COM
When a 5.5 user sends a mail to one of these custom recipients it is rerouted to the SMTP connector on the 2003 server. This works great.
My question is this...
On 2003 the mailbox has the @ACME.COM address as the PR address. On 5.5 @internal.com is the PR address. Can I configure this swapping of PR with the ADC?
All comments appreciated,
Kind Regards,
Churchill.
