Regardless of their location the 5.5 server is going to pass the message to
the E2k3 server via MTA, E2k3 will them convert the message into SMTP
Format and push it through the SMTP Connector.
The key here is this:
1. Is the address space removed from the IMC on the 5.5 server? If not
remove it. (Recalculate routing)
2. If you go into the properties of "Site Addressing" under the
Configuration container in 5.5 and then to the Routing tab, can you see the
E2k3 Connector listed? If not force replication on the Config_Ca under the
ADC.
3. Are the messages from the 5.5 users backing up in the MTA for the E2k3
server or for the 5.5 IMS?
4. If they are backed up in the MTA for the IMS, then once the replication
has taken place the messages shoud re-route out E2k3. If they are backed up
in the MTA for E2k3 then look in the application for events 9318 or 9322
from the MTA. There could be a permission or name resolution issue.
A Permission issue will throw an Error code of 5 in the description. Name
Resolution will throw an error code of 1722. (Host file will resolve this)
Note:
If you need to remove the address space from the 5.5 IMS, you must
recalculate routing on the Site Addressing\Routing tab. Then force
replication on the Config_Ca.
