WOW your a big help! I'd hate to work at your company! Are you a server
monkey or do they actually let you talk to other people?
Nope can't do it no way no how you moron! Won't even waste my time giving
you support since you won't listen to me anyway.

If he insists on shooting himself in the foot there's nothing you can do
about it.

I set up all the clients and only the office pc has the POP accounts, it
is downloaded directly in to the live .ost file on his office PC. This
puts the POP email into his Exchange account. It is not set to remove the
POP email from the server.
The other computers access Exchange ONLY, through RPC and email from his
corp account is missing too so it's not just a POP problem.
What kind of third party apps are you talking about?
I've told him he shouldn't download his personal email to the corporate
system but he's the boss doesn't care because the way it is now gives him
access to all email through the one interface. He doesn't have manage
multiple profiles or move/delete the email from multiple computers.

Hope this makes sense so her goes
All Outlook 2007 SP1 in cahched mode running on Windows XPSP3
Attached to Exchange 2003 standard up to date.
I have a user that has his corporate exchange account and 2 pop
accounts in the same profile for Outlook on his work desktop.
Outlook doesn't work well when you combine Exchange with POP or IMAP in
the same profile. I strongly recommend against doing that.
Usually has no issues with this desktop as it is in the same building
as the server and me.
He also has a Blackberry attached to our BES server, he can send a
receive all 3 email accounts from this unit as long as the desktop in
the office is logged in with Outlook open.
He also has a Laptop which he carries for travel (week or so a month),
that he can send and receive email from the 3 accounts as long as the
unit in the office is up with Outlook open. It connects to Exchange
through RPC.
I have added a desktop at his home to that accesses Exchange through
RPC and can send and receive all accounts as long as bla bla bla.
The problem is the desktop at home isn't receiving all of the emails,
he compared the laptop with the desktop and it was missing several
emails from all 3 accounts.
No errors in any of the event logs or on the server, just missing
emails!
I suspect that he has one of the computers configured to download mail
to a PST or to otherwise remove it from the server. That is always the
case when someone reports using multiple clients and is "losing" mail.
My first response is well Exchange isn't really built to have 3
computers and a Blackberry attached to one account at the same time but
I haven't been able to find proof of that.
I've never known that to be an issue except when third-party software
doesn't behave well and, for example, opens but never closes sessions.
Those problems are usually fixed by ensuring that you're running on the
latest versions of the product.
He is a VP here so I can't blow him off with that kind of answer with
out proof.
Any ideas of where I can look or what to look for would be great!
Tell him to stop using POP in the same profile and to use Outlook
Express for those other accounts instead of Outlook, or to switch
between two profiles.
