Re: HTTP Connection to Exchange from Outlook

Hi.
You need a SSL connection for your Exchange Server (Install a certificate in the Exchange IIS), for the FQDN Exchange machine (which means, you need a public DNS name for that machine).
Then, depending on what you need to accomplish, follow this guidelines:

The clients will not be connecting using a VPN. I read somewhere that there
is a way to connect using HTTP in a way that would look like a VPN connection
to Exchange Server.

Are you looking to add VPN functionality to your network?
Or do you want to just add http connection from a computer using
outlook.

Both are possible.
When you use a vpn soloution you work via a secure tunnel. To connect
to your office/server and are able to use every network recourse as if
you are inside your lan.
This is done with remote access server RAS client inside windows
server 2003 or windows small business server.
or you can add http email account in outlook (less secure) and connect
to your mail at work.
I don't know how this is done.
