Thanks for your reply. I can access the same mailbox on the same PC
if boot with Windows XP. There is no connectivity issue here.
The problem is when under Win 98, I receive the error message.
Waiting for your help.
I haven't used OL2000 in a million years, nor Win9x, so my memory on all of
this is very rusty. Do you have the MS Client for networks as your *first*
login? or is it Windows? The latter doesn't work, as far as I remember.
Just out of curiosity, what's the reason you're using Win98 in a dual-boot
config anyway?

Using Exchange server 2003 as server and Outlook 2000 on Win 98 as
client, I receive an error message titled "Microsoft Exchange"
stating "The name could not be resolved. The operation failed." when
I click on Check Name button. However, I have no problem with
Outlook 2003 on Win XP.
The workstation is part of and logged on an MS domain. I can ping
the Exchange server successfully.
Please help me if I am missing anything. Thanks a lot.
Need help: The name could not be resolved...
Can you access this exact same mailbox from another
workstation/client? (it isn't clear what you're testing). If so,
it's a problem with the workstation config or Outlook on same. Can
you access other network resources on the domain successfully with
the same Win9x client? How about other resources shared on the
Exchange server, even as a test? Note also - I see you've posted this
identical message in at least
three newsgroups I've seen so far. Please don't multipost - if you
need to post to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by
posting a single message to a handful of relevant groups (separate
the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the thread.
Thanks :-)
