Re: ActiveSync warning

Hi,

Thank you for posting here.

First, I want to insist that you should delete the device ID on the
specific user's workstation, based on my test, it not necessary to use
https:// I can open the web folder directly type following command
http://<servername>/exchange/<username>/NON_IPM_SUBTREE/Microsoft-Server-Act
iveSync on my workstation

Also delete the device ID folder do not affect any data losing after you
run server sync, the current device id folder will appear again.

Consider you situation, I suggest you backup Exchange information store, if
any thunderbolts, you can try the following steps to recovery a single
mailbox.

By using the Recovery Storage Group feature, you can mount a second copy
of an Exchange mailbox store (database) on the same computer as the
original mailbox store, or on any other Exchange computer that is in the
same administrative group. In Exchange 2000 Server, in order to recover a
single mailbox from online backup, user needs to build up a recovery server
as introduced in the article below.

813337 How To Recover or Restore a Single Mailbox in Exchange 2000 Server
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=813337

However, in Exchange Server 2003, you can use the Recovery Storage Group
feature to recover mailbox data without having to install and to configure
a separate Exchange recovery computer.

For more information about Recovery Storage Group in Exchange Server 2003,
please refer to the following article.

824126 How to use Recovery Storage Groups in Exchange Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=824126

Hope this helps, if you have any other concerns on this issue, please feel
free to let me know.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,

Chace Zhang (MSFT)

| Thanks for the reply.
| This actually is looking quite promising to resolve my issue, just a
couple
| of questions. Since the account that has this problem is the executive
| director's, I want to be extra carefull.
| I have several folders inside the pocket pc (probably because he had
several
| devices), and there is also a SmartPhone folder as well. The SmartPhone I
| think was for a motorola Q that he tried for a couple of weeks.
| I was checking the "AirNotifyDeviceInfo.xml" file and there are several
| deviceID, but only one that has friendly name. If I am guessing correctly
| those are like historical device info, right? And I just need to delete
the
| one before the friendly name.
| Also, I needed to use https, otherwise it would ask for authentication
and
| no matter what I typed it would not let me in the folder.
