Hi all,
Im having what is all i can say is a very strange problem with the
above.
I have setup all in the LAN enviroment the settingas per many MS
documents (plus others) and have tried OUTLOOK which worked fine. I
have then from home tried a laptop with OUTLOOK again works fine and
using the OUTLOOK /rpcdiag can see HTTP being used. I have also
confirmed that my VPN tunnel from home to office is turned off so
OUTLOOK still works. A collegue who doesnt have a VPN tunnel and uses
TALK TALK (UK ISP) can also connect OUTLOOK via RPC. 3rdly i can
connect from another persons house using my laptop on a standrad
broadband and all works well.
Now for the bad part.
If my collegue or me setup our 'HOME' PCs neither will work. And the
big crux of this all our Thailand office (who we are trying to move
away from a very flaky VPN cant connect over the internet via RPC but
works fine when the VPN is kicked in.
Im pulling out what little hair i have , so any one with any
suggestions i woudl really welcome them..!!!
So you've established that the server is configured properly, and your
laptops are configured properly, and your home networks' Internet
connections allow it. So, what's different about the PCs that *don't* work?
Running WinXP SP1 or ideally SP2, Outlook 2003? What errors do you get?
