OLK - Recover Deleted Items
If you have Item retention on the server...you could use the following
registry edit that will allow you to recover items from ALL mailbox
folders.
When items are moved to pst's from the inbox, sent, or any other folder
they do not go to the deleted items folder but they can be recovered from
the inbox folder, or the sent folder, etc. Just make the following registry
change (create the key if it does not exist). Then open the mailbox.
Select the INBOX folder, then select RECOVER... from the appropriate
menu bar.
\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options\DumpsterAlwaysOn
DWORD Value = 1
ALSO:
Make sure that the following dll's are present:
DUMPSTER.ECF
DUMPSTER.DLL

My boss usually keeps a copy of her messages on the server, and periodically moves them into a local PST file. Last week someone broke into her car and took her laptop. And no backup of the PST Question: Is there a way to recover messages from Exchange that were moved from the inbox to her local PST file. We don't have a copy of the PST, and the messages aren't in her deleted message folder since they were moved... Env: Win2k Exchange 2K -Tom
