Full Text Index There...Now Gone?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

We enalbed 2 indexes on our exchange 2003 server. one on the public folder
store & one on the mailbox store.

The public folder store was about 1.6GB DB size & yielded a Full Index of
41MB.

We have an 85GB Mailbox store DB & we started the crawl.

After about 2 hrs, I went back into system manager to check and see where
the crawl was & when I went to Exchange>Admin Groups>First Admin
Group>Servers>Backend mail Server>Public Folder Store>Full-Text Index
there's nothing there. The dialogue on the right says There's no full text
index for this store. 2hrs prior, all of the FTI info was there.

Also, looking over at the mailbox store's FTI folder, there's no info there.
Before, there was the update of the Crawl.

I've searched through the KB & there are no recommendations on this.

Secondarily, i'm getting an 0x80004005 in the Application log every time
the interval for update kicks off. The solutions provided by KB tell me to
go in and delete the index...hello?! can't see that option anymore in ESM.
ESM does offer me the ability to create another index, however, i see it
still runing in the app log & I'm not going to try and run another index.

Suggestions are appreciated.
Andrew
