OWA : Failed to get Inbox - just one user

NT4 SP6 Exch 5.5 linked to separate server running W2k
Server and IIS 5

We've recently moved to this configuration when our NT web
box died. Users register locally for the service and all
have been successful with the move except this one:

Exchange alias : SmithJ
IIS username: JohnSmith + password

Constantly gets "OWA was unable to get you your inbox"
message.

I've checked his rights and permisisons, which are
identical to the other users but cannot get past this
error.

Any pointers ?
