Paul, thanks cant install patch as it would take me back to different
version of store.exe that I'm currentlly using. Patch Version is
6.5.7653.18, current store version is 6.5.7654.12...

and it has disappeared since installing.

Believe me, i was moving 1000+ users and it would have been a nightmare to
manually use this 'workaround' to get rid of the stubs, install the patch
and move mailboxes without the stub appearing in the first place.

If you are that worried about the disconnected mailboxes, attach them
to a dummy user and then export the mail out. Then delete the mailboxes
again.
