I have a single exchange server with all components loaded on our
production (private) lan. This is loaded on Win2k3 server and I allow SSL
(443) through the firewall to this exchange 2007 server for OWA,
autodiscover, etc. I purchased a SAN cert from entrust and it is loaded
and functioning properly (I believe). I am trying to follow the steps in
this article:
How to Simplify the Outlook Web Access URL
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998359.aspx
The problem is when I implement the first proceedure listed, the redirect
is not working. When I go to the default web site on the home directory
tab and change to "A redirection to a URL" and then put "/owa" in the
box - it does not work. I cannot get to the owa site at all - through the
default site or with the explicit path defined. I do have SSL required on
the default site - I am not allowing HTTP (port 80) through my firewall to
this server. If I remove the redirect on the default site I can get to
https://webmail.mydomain.com/owa just fine. I do not have any content
loaded for the default site but I assume I could get there as well.
My goal is to redirect https://webmail.mydomain.com to
https://webmail.mydomain.com/owa. I do not want all of the other sites
such as https://webmail.mydomain.com/autodiscover redirected though.
Actually I guess I would not care if they all were redirected as long as
activesync and outlook anywhere worked (I have not gotten that far yet
though). I just assumed they should not be redirected to /owa like the
default site.
Any ideas why this is not working? Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Clay
Can you show us the IIS log entries generated when the redirect doesn't
work?
Lee.
