Try creating an smtp connector to that domain. Do not use DNS but
specify their mx server IP. Get the mx server IP from third party
source on net not from a query on your box.

then this might be a DNS issue...whose DNS are you using?  have you tried
doing an nslookup for mx records for any of these domains?

Forward to DNS - Our gatway, then to the router and then to other external

Does anyone know how to eliminate this error?

We are using Exchange 2003 with Windows Server Standard 2003.

I am looking for a solution to this problem ASAP.

I have tried several fixes and none have had success

Since I am at the other end of this problem ( I am one of the exchange
servers northcoastseafood is having issues with) I thought I would
jump in. I think this is a reverse dns issue, since your system
connects to ours as exchangesrv.northcoastseafoods.com, but your mx
record is mail.northcoastseafoods.com. And the reverse dns is
mail.northcoastseafoods.com, so when my system trys to do a reverse
dns lookup for exchangesrv.etc, it fails and the connection is
dropped. I think correcting this would resolve the problems we are
experiencing.
