Re: Blackberry Professional Errors

You should always consult RIM before using DBClean.
Its pretty powerful and can quickly screw things up for you if not used properly.

I would try the other method first.
Update the BB OS.
http://www.dynoplex.com/rimos.shtml
Wipe the device, delete the user from BES, purge the user.
The add the user back to BES and reactivate the device.

While your at it, may as well make sure your BES is at the latest version and SP..

If you have one user experiencing this problem, BB might have corrupted on
the user mailbox, you may have to backup the mailbox, delete it, delete from
BES server as well, re-create the mailbox and add it back to the BES server.
BES has utility called DBClean, you can ask them, it basically cleans the
hidden BES DLL files from use mailbox and you may not have to delete the
mailbox hopefully
Make sure you have backup for it.

Thanks Frank. I will try this. I just thing it's really odd how only one
user is experiencing this. You don't think that it has anything to do with
his mailbox in Exchange?

Dave,

I have had so many problems with these myself. Mostly, I find that
each carrier has its own quirks and pains!! My last BB I activated
for myself took 6 tries and two days to complete. It was awful!

Here is what I recommend.

1. Make sure your users bb is upgraded to the latest software
release. Even if you are .1 away, update it.
2. Erase the phone to scratch. If he is going to lose stuff, have
him connect it to a pc first.
3. Re-create his BB user with a new PIN.
4. Re-send his service books from his carrier. (Wait about 20
minutes)
5. Re-do enterprise activation.
6. If issues, have the BB Server resend service books now.
Sometimes, you have to delete the ical and resend it. Can be a pain.

If I follow this ANNOYING, TIME-CONSUMING process, I usually get good
results.

Good Luck,

Frank
