I apologize I am not a full time Exchange admin so I do not understand the
terminology i guess. I understood the “Recipient” to be an out side email
address (host name or Domain name) that is coming into my Exchange server.
After adding the problem email address to my registry the filter did not stop
the email until they changed the return address (Received: line in the email
header) along with the ip address. I have also been adding the ip addresses
to the Connection Filtering Global Accept list. Perhaps that the proper
place to fix this problem.

That fix allows you to whitelist recipients not host names..

In Ex2003 IMF your only option is to use IPs.

Thank you for your assistance. I have it working now but I still have
a
problem. The email that is giving me a problem is from an automated
system
that has multiple domain names for example securemail7.companyname.com
and
securemail6.companyname.com. I ran the hotfix for IMF that allows me
to
put
domain name in addition to ip address. Can I put and “*” in the domain
name
to cover all the variation? For example can I use *.companyname.com
in
the
registry?

Yes adding the IP to the IP Accept List should have done the trick.
Since it is not working there is a good chance you ran into this known
issue:

I am running Exchange 2003 with IMF turned on and I am running
spamcop
in
the
Block List Service Configuration. Until about a week ago three of
my
users
where receiving email from a company. They are no longer receiving
them.
I
fond the email in the IMF archive folder and released them. I put
what
I
believe to be the ip address for the company in the Global Accept
list.
and I
have also added the email address to the Exception to the blocked
list. The emails are still getting put in the archive folder. Do I
have
to
reboot or stop and start the services or something?
