Exch07/OL07: Change Calendar Permission for All Users, Free/Busy T

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,

We have been given a task which we are not quite sure how to accomplish. We
have an Exchange 2007 SP1 system, and all Outlook installations are 2007. We
have two large groups of users, Users A and Users B. A directive has come
down that Users A should not be able to view the Free/Busy information of
Users B. Furthermore, Users B should still be able to view Free/Busy
information of other Users B.

I think what needs to change is the Default permissions on the Calendar from
Default = Free/Busy Time to Default = None. Then add in another permission
for Users B Group Name = Free/Busy Time.

Since we are dealing with a large group of users, it is not realistic for us
to manually set permissions in Outlook on each user’s Calendar permissions to
accomplish this. Does anyone know if there’s a way to do this globally &
automatically, either with Group Policy, PowerShell in Exchange, or another
method?

Thanks!
Steve
