Re: Exclude Mail Store from Mailbox Management Policy

Using GUI would be a better option always. Modifying the LDAP query manually
may cause problmes if they are modified incorrectly. I would always
recommend to use the GUI in stead of LDAP query modification if you dont
understand the filtering conventions.

So, I could click the Storage tab and choose mailboxes on this server and
then add the filter you put in this message to the end? Of does that need to
be inside of the parenthisis of the filter?

You can modify the Recipient Policy (with Mailbox Manager settings) filter
to exclude mailboxes on that store.

Add the following to your LDAP filter:
(&(YourExistingFilter)(!homeMDB=CN=StoreName,CN=Storage Group
Name,CN=Storage Groups,CN=Information
Store,CN=ServerName,CN=AdministrativeGroupName,CN=Administrative
Groups,CN=ExchangeOrgName,CN=Microsoft
Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=YourDomain))

Replace the part after CN= with the distinguishedName of the store to which
you do not want to have the policy applied.

I have just created a new exchange 2003 cluster server with 4 different
mail
stores on it (not including the public folder store). one of the 4 is a no
policy store but the other 3 will have a mailbox policy that deletes items
older than 90 days. Is there a way to create one mailbox managent policy
that
can apply this rule to 3 of the 4 mail stores or do I have to make 4
separate
policies?
