I have a user that says he’s seeing contacts in outlook that are not
in the blackberry yet.  This user is using act.  Act uses an
application called doublelink that will transfer the contact
information to outlook/exchange.  Bes will then service the blackberry
pda.  The issue seems to lie with the bes to pda portion.  I'm
assuming that a dirrect push process is happening between the
blackberry and bes.  Could the pda not be sending out heartbeat
requests to bes?  Can the blackberry force a heartbeat request
manually?

Yes it would be wireless. Just thinking about what could be happening
is that they are checking this during a time when the pda has not
initiated a sync request with bes. That's why i'm wondering if this
can be done manually
.
