Grand, so just enable Int Auth on CAS02? As stated, ActiveSync does not work
when Int Auth is enabled on CAS01.

I don't know exactly what is meant by Internet Facing... CAS01 is the one
that talks to the ISA Server if that is what you mean. It does not have an
external url defined
at the moment. If this is required, what entry would go there?

It would be the FQDN that external users use to connect to Active
Sync.

Thanks in advance.

E2K7 and ActiveSync

Setup as follows:

ISA01 - Published Exchange 2007 ActiveSync, in the DMZ
CAS01 - Domain Member, Location AD site 01, clients in this site can connect
using ActiveSync
CAS02 - Domain Member, Location AD site 02, clients in this site cannot
connect using ActiveSync

I want to use proxying of Exchange Client Access Servers to allow people in
site 02 to connect using ActiveSync.

I have a few question:
1. On CAS01, the Internal URL for ActiveSync is set as
https://CAS01.test.lab/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync.

Is this the URL I put on the same tab for CAS02?

No. You would leave the internalURL on CAS02 as is

Which of these CAS servers is the internet facing CAS and have you
defined the external URL for it?

2. I note from the Technet Article "Understanding Proxying and Redirection"
that Basic Authentication cannot be set. However, when as instructed I use
Integrated Windows Authentication on CAS01 and CAS02, ActiveSync will not
work for anyone.
I enable Basic Authentication again on CAS01 and it will work for people in
Site 01 only.

How can I get this to work for everyone?

If CAS02 is not Internet facing, then you need to enable Int Auth on
the AS directory:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb217371.aspx

ISA may screw this up, but that is how its supposed to work.

BTW, I have read the Technet article above and also the article on the
MSExchangeTeam blog with reagrds to Proxying Exchange Client Access Servers
and I am still none the wiser.

Thanks in advance to all.
