Its a mystery...

Its a mystery.
Yep.

Someone here went into AD and deleted a users account today.
A valid user, who's account should not have been deleted. Who that
person is, will remain a mystery. All admins and junior admins
with permission to delete an account deny that it was them.
And so I guess it will remain a mystery.

By now you can probably guess how thrilled I am about all this...

OK, so here's my question:

If I look in Exchange System Manager /mailboxes I can still see
a mailbox with half a gig of mail in it that belongs to this user.
So, if I re-create the user account in AD, will it re-attach to the
users mailbox, will it blow the mailbox away, or will it do something
else undesirable ?

Basically, I need to recreate this users account and recover thier
mail.

BTW, a "find" in AD comes up dry, the account wasn't moved.

Thanks much.
