have you tried running update.exe from a command line to see if you get any
error or what happens? nothing in the event log? when you launch
update.exe, if you look in task manager, does it appear that the process is
running?

I have an Exchange 2003 server I've tried multiple times to apply a
service pack to, but once you launch either service pack 1 or 2
nothing happens. I've downloaded both service packs and extracted
multiple times - still nothing. No errors in the logs. Very
perplexing. This server was an upgrade from Windows 2000 Advanced/
Exchange 2000 Enterprise to Windows 2003 Enterprise and Exchange 2003
Enterprise.

Other than the fact that I can't get a service pack to install the
server seems to function fine. No errors... Logged in as domain
admin... So I wouldn't see it as permissions.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
