Re: OU Contacts in GAB?

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Thanks Ed. I'm not sure if I did what you suggested. I did this:

Opened AD Users and Computers
Went into my Common Contacts OU
Right clicked a person and chose Exchange Tasks...
Selected "Establish E-mail Address"
Accepted the alias it and confirmed the e-mail addres.
Clicked Next
Saw success message.

I then went into Outlook 2007 and tried to find this person, but he was not
there. In my GAL, I still just see the recipients who have mailboxes on my
Exchange Server. Didn't know if Outlook caches the GAL locally or anything,
so I restarted that. That didn't make my brother magically appear in the
GAL though either.

Is this not what you meant?

Thanks

Sure. Mail-enable them.

Hi group,

I have a WS2003 domain and recently added an Exchange 2003 server on the
network. In my active directory, I have an organizational unit called
"Common Contacts" that contains contacts. Is there a way that I can get
these contacts to show up in the GAB or elsewhere when using Outlook 2007
or OWA 2003? This is just a server at I setup at home so my wife and I
can have one repository for common contacts, so I don't really have an
Exchange admin here.

Thank you,

Ray
