enterprise edition is on order
so, exmerge doesn't work unless the store is up?

Do you have a copy of Enterprise ed?.
An over the top upgrade might be the fastest way to get back up.

well, I was looking at the 68 Gig edb and estimating the growth rate to
reach
75 Gig and was planning an upgrade in the near future, but the future is
now.

Is there a reason (in that I mean a valid business requirement) for thes

people to collectively have more than 75GB of mail? If the answer is
yes,
then you've deployed the wrong version of Exchange; upgrade to
enterprise.
If the answer is no, then impose mailbox size limits based on a valid
business requirement.

OK, I'm an idiot, I didn't add in the size of the stm file, now my
store
is
maxed out and unmounted. Exchsrvr 2003. Is there some way to run
mailbox
manager or something like it offline to delete old deleted items?
I'm doing an eseutil /d, but the event message says it takes into
account
the white space in the store when calculating the size limit, so not
sure
that will help
PS- in a couple hours about 80 people are going to be very annoyed with
me.
