The next thing I would try is to delete the Exchange VDir in IIS Manager,
and recreate it with this (I think method 3 is easiest):

Hi!
We're using Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 SP2.
I've tried to apply the hotfix, since the problem described in KB908068 is
more or less similar to mine, however, the hotfix wouldn't install, since
it can be installed only on the Exchange 2003 SP1.
Any other ideas?

Is it installed on Windows 2003 server, rather than 2000? If so, then it
sounds like it is the built-in security features of IIS6 doing this.
IIS6 no longer needs URLScan, since URL validation is now built-in.
Unfortunately, OWA requires the URL checking to be relaxed, otherwise you
see the exact problem that you are experiencing.
However, see if you think this applies to your situation:

Hi!
I've searched the entire server for this ini file, however it doesn't
exit.
You're right, it has something to do with email Subjects. i noticed,
that emails containing long subjects, or subjects with certain
characters, or containing non-latin (i.e. ciryllic) caharcters are not
visualized.
Is there a way to fix this?

We run Exchange 2003 configured for OWA. Some messages are not shown
when accessed from IE or any other browser. Not all messages behave
like that, but only some of them. When clicked on, I get HTTP 404 Not
Found error and no contents is visualized, empty page with the
description of 404 error. What could be the problem and how to resolve
it?
This is usually caused by URLScan objecting to message subjects with
certain characters in; most notably the colon (:) and the percent
characters (%). See if you can find a URLScan.ini file on the server.
Lee.
