Thanks for your reply,
I just used metabase explorer to make sure I was importing the cert into the
correct website by identifying the site id. IIS is where most of the work
was done. I understand your post but I believe something is off with the
permissions of iis and even if I purchase a cert, OWA is still not going to
load correctly when using forms based / ssl auth.
I've attempted to enable the ssl, run iisreset that recheck use forms based
auth in the exchange virtual server properties in exchange manager and I get
the following message.
"Forms based auth requires clients to use SSL connection. If ssl encryption
is not off-loaded to another source, complete the following steps: Configure
ssl, restart IIS services" well, I configured ssl on the exchange virtual
directory and reset iis before checking that box and that's what I get in
response. Something tells me there is a problem with the permission/ssl
properties on the iis site for OWA but I'm not sure how to get things back to
a working state.

If certs are not imported in correctly you will get the page cannot be
displayed. Also are you using selfssl cert for testing purposes? There
are limitations.

Last week, I attempted to assign a new certificate using SelfSSL to the
default website with the correct CN so we stop getting the security cert
warning. Well, I used Metabase Explorer and assigned the new cert to the
correct Site 1 (I just wanted to make sure). When I go into the properties
of the default site and select Directory Security. I can view the
certificate and everything seems fine. Here's the problem, it is not. Once
I set the exchange virtual directory to use the certificate, I get a message
the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". If I change the
properties on the Exchange Virt Dir and take off ssl, I get the popup window
prompting for a userid and password. Once entered, the OWA load and works
just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, the server is SBS
2003 and Exchange is 03 also.
I've also heard the I should rerun the internet connection wizard but I'd
really like to configure this without effecting anything else. The
Sharepoint Services are also located on the web and working just great with
their own cert from SelfSSL.
Thanks,
Chris
