Are you seeing any kerberos or lsasrv errors in system logs for
Exchange or DCs? Did you ever have an Exchange server that was also a
DC on same box? I would run through the troubleshooting steps in that
article next time it hangs to see if you can further isolate the
issue. Also crank up diagnostic logging for dsaccess to see if it
gives more info.

Sorry James I have run the exbpa and come up with no issues. Also have not
seen any errors on the DCS or DNS for errors. Any other ideas?

Run Exchange best practice analyzer so it can run some basic netdiag
tests. Second check your DCs event logs to see if there are issues on
them as well. Use the article below to troubleshoot when it fails next
time before rebooting. If it's some sort of DNS record issue; you may
have to ipconfig/registerdns on your DCs.

I have an single exchng 2003 server srv pk2 with panda buisness secure
antivirus that stops sending mail everyday after aprox 15 hours and I have to
reboot it in order to get it to work again. I am unable to restart the smtp
process in services. The following errors are from my event logs.
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeDSAccess
Event Category: Topology
Event ID: 2121
Date: 4/29/2008
Time: 10:34:04 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SRVMAIL
Description:
Process INETINFO.EXE (PID=1404). DSAccess is unable to connect to any domain
controller in domain a1toolco.com although DNS was successfully queried for
the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain
controller for that domain.
The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.a1toolco.com
The following domain controllers were identified by the query:
srv6
srvjobs
srv5
Common causes of this error include:
- Host (A) records that map the name of the domain controller to its IP
addresses are missing or contain incorrect addresses.
- Domain controllers registered in DNS are not connected to the network or
are not running.
For information about correcting this problem, type in the command line:
hh tcpip.chm::/sag_DNS_tro_dcLocator_messageHa.htm
