More information on this one.
the object has been found, but it's funny.
It only can be found when connecting using GC port 3268, but not the LDAP
port 389.
The object data are:
Dn: CN=Mark de
Bay\0ACNF:e5670711-1400-4f67-84d1-76ec72fe6ca5,CN=LostAndFound,DC=emea,DC=int,DC=genesyslab,DC=com
canonicalName: emea.int.genesyslab.com/LostAndFound/Mark de Bay
CNF:e5670711-1400-4f67-84d1-76ec72fe6ca5;
description: Sales Workforce Manager;
name: Mark de Bay
CNF:e5670711-1400-4f67-84d1-76ec72fe6ca5;
objectClass (4): top; person; organizationalPerson; user;
However if I enable Advanced features in ADUC, the LostAndFound container is
empty.
I found it by LDP tool by (givenName=Mark) query but, being connected on
3268 port, it's read only and I can't delete it. If I try to connect via 389,
the object is not there and there's nothing to delete :(
Yet GAL picks it up all right and p**ses the person off big deal.
Modifying my original question into:
-- "How do I *delete* this object"?

Hello folks,.
one of my users is experiencing duplicate entries for him in the GAL.
When doing any LDAP searches in the domain, there is only one user let's say
"Mark de Bay" (names changed). This account is working OK, and the person can
send and receive his email.
However when doing search from Outlook in the Global Address List, you can
see an older phantom object with name "Mark De Bay" (note the capital D).
This object is NOT a full-fledged user. It has lesser tabs in its properties,
and the only ones working are the General, Phone/Notes and E-mail addresses.
The email of the phantom object is different. But the worst part is it has a
telephone number. Some people when looking for Mark De Bay take note of the
wrong entry and call person having his old mobile, causing grief to both him
and Mark.
If you try to send mail to the phantom object, it comes up as
/o=MyOrg/ou=EUR-NL/cn=Recipients/cn=MarkD -- this EUR-NL is an old Admin
Group which has since been deleted. The real MarkD account is
/o=MyOrg/ou=ORG_EUROPE/cn=Recipients/cn=Markk
All my attempts to locate the phantom object are unsuccessful. :(
The user is very unhappy about the situation and I want to help him.
How do I find and destroy the old object? I have Active Directory Explorer
at my disposal, LDP and ADSI Editor.
Any help will be appreciated.
