Mailstore Defragging by online move

We have an Exchnage 2003 SP2 mail cluster with two servers (1-act, 1-pass).
On which I have 3 Storage Groups - SG1 = 4mailstores + 1 public folder, SG2 =
5ms, SG3=5ms.
I have 1 mailstore in SG3 which I want to defrag online by moving it to one
of the other SG. Firstly, how many ms can I have in a SG? Secondly, each ms
in each SG is named alike so that I will have a Mailstore 1 in all 3 SGs; so
can I rename the mailstore move it for the defrag, and then move it back and
rename it back to its original name?
Or do I need to create a new SG and just move it there to defrag it?
Thanks,
Joseph
