Hello Customer,
Thank you for posting here!
From your description, I understand when trying to move mailboxes fromExchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, an error 1056749241 was received. If I have
misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
According to my knowledge, this issue can be generated by many factors. We
may need to spend some time on troubleshooting so as to get the root cause.
I appreciate your understanding and patience. Please be assured I will try
my best to help resolve the problem as soon as possible.
At this point, please check if the following suggestion is helpful:
Suggestion
=======
This issue usually occurs when the related permission is not correct so
that the moving mailbox failed. Let's first verify the permission by
following the steps below:
WARNING: If you use the ADSI Edit snap-in, the LDP utility, or any other
LDAP version 3 client, and you incorrectly modify the attributes of Active
Directory objects, you can cause serious problems. These problems may
require you to reinstall Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange
Server, or both. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that occur if you
incorrectly modify Active Directory object attributes can be solved. Modify
these attributes at your own risk. Please first backup your AD information
and Exchange server before trying the following steps.
1. Start the ADSI tool which is available in the Support folder on the
Windows CD-ROM.
a. Install Windows 2003 Support Tools from the Windows 2003 Server CD if
Windows 2003 Support Tools is not already installed. To do so, locate the
Support folder on the CD, open the Tools folder, and then double-click
Setup.exe
b. After Windows 2003 Support Tools is installed, click Start, point to
Programs, point to Windows 2003 Support Tools, and then click ADSI Edit.
2. Navigate to and expand CN=Administrative Groups
CN=Services, CN=Microsoft Exchange, CN=<org_name>, CN=Administrative Groups
4. Open properties of each Administrative Group, choose Security tab and
then click Advance button. Check the option "Allow inheritable permissions
from parent to propagate to this object??".
5. Click Apply
Wait for some time until the replication completes. Then, let's try moving
mailbox again. Does it success? If not, please help collect the following
information for further analysis:
1. Let's first run Exchange BPA on the Exchange 2007 to check if any
permission is incorrect.
ExBPA:
=====
1). Open Exchange Management Console, select Toolbox.
2). Double click Best Practices Analyzer
3). Connect to Active Directory
4). Input the name of DC; make sure you are using Exchange Administrator
account and Domain User account
5). Click "Connect to the Active Directory Server"
6). Select entire Organization as the Scan Scope, type "Health Check"
7). Click "Start Scanning"
8). When the scan finishes, Click "View a report" in the left pane and
click the report in the right pane
9). Click "Export report", select the type as XML (will save entire data
file).
10). Compress the XML and send it to me at v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
2. Please help collect the MPS Report on Exchange 2007 for analysis
a) Download MPSRPT_Exchange.EXE from the following link:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=cebf3c7c-7ca5-408f-
88b7-f9c79b7306c0&displaylang=en
b) Double-click the executable file to start the report gathering tool, and
then accept the end-user licensing agreement (EULA). Note Please be patient
while MPS Reports collects data. The tool may appear to stop responding
(hang) because it may take from five to 15 minutes to collect the data.
c)> The tool creates a CAB file named "%COMPUTERNAME%_MPSReports_.CAB" in
the %systemroot%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\Cab folder. The CAB file contains
the reports that the MPS Reporting Tool generated. If the tool does not
create the CAB file, copy all the files in the
%systemroot%\MPSReport\Setup\Reports folder to a compressed (zipped) file.
Note The %systemroot% folder is the folder where you installed the
operating system. By default, this is the C:\WINDOWS folder.
d) Send me the CAB file or the compressed (zipped) file at:
v-mzhuan@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope this helps! If anything is unclear, please don't hesitate to let me
know and I will be glad to help. Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
