Re: Need To Accept Email for New Domain

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hello Karl,

Hello D303M,

I have just been told that we will be hosting email for a new startup
company. We are currently running Exchange 2007 - no SP/1.

I know I need to get the MX records changed from the outsource
comapny that host their email now to our DNS provider and have the MX
records pointed to our mail server.

Then add the new domain to Accepted Domains. Is there anything else I
need to do?

Once I 'm accepting Email for this other company is there any way to
only apply the new email address to people in this second company and
not everybody on the server?

Thanks.

Will the associated user accounts be in a seperate OU? If so, you can
create a recipient policy for all members of that OU

Dead easy

Karl

Um, I mean it's dead easy to do this if the user's all have a unique COMPANY in their AD account.

You can also use any of the Custom Attributes,a nd various other fields to hold a unique attribute to search for, but Company would probally work best, as you want to base this on the Company
