Which hardare (old and new) ?
You can try to ghost the image of disk(s) to the new hw... just install the
drivers for the new SCSI controller in old hw BEFORE ghosting, or when you
try to boot you'll see blue screen whit "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" (in this
case, a repair installation after ghost) ...

OS=Server 2003r2 std.
I have an Exchange 2003 sp2 server and it has run out of
disk space. Management wants me to move it over to new
hardware. There is no upgrading here, just a direct move
from one machine to another.
I've never done this before so naturally I'm a bit nervous.
People live and die by their email around here, its amazing.
So...first off, is the Exchange license transferrable to a new
machine? I think it is, I just want to be sure.
Is there any documentation out there that explains the
process of moving the data from one machine to another?
I would like to read up on this, I could really use some kind
of step by step outline.
What are some of the pitfalls I need to be aware of?
Will there be any issuse with renaming the destination machine
once the move is complete? DNS or otherwise?
Any links/pointers you could send my way would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.
