Mailbox Manager & SystemMailboxes

I'm in the process of creating a Recipient Policy to purge items older
than a specified date. I plan to apply this policy to all users in
the organization. However, I have some concern about the
SystemMailboxes that's associated with each Mailbox Store. Do these
SystemMailboxes need to be excluded from the Recipient Policy?
