Due to severe weather conditions in the area we are located,
we are losing power (atleast 4-6 hours) every 2-3 weeks
and we are losing emails.
If power goes down, you can't blame your e-mail system for losing mails and call it "unreliable"; no mailserver in the world could do anything with you mail when power isn't there.
4-6 hour power outages don't seem something a good UPS can't handle. I think buying one of those (and/or a little generator) would be a lot less trouble than replacing your whole e-mail system.
