Hopefully someone can give me some advice.
Senario Company ABC.COM buys XYZ.COM both are running AD 2003 and Exchange
2003
Company ABC.COM wants all the users on XYZ.COM domain to be able to receive
email addressed to ABC.COM
So JoeUser@xxxxxxx would be able to receive email addressed to
JoeUser@xxxxxxxx
In addition would like to have it that when JoeUser replies to an address it
will use the JoeUser@xxxxxxx address
Eventually the XYZ domain will disappear and be merged into ABC's. However
management would like the email addresses
all the same as soon as possible.
Your recipient policy should assigne the primary SMTP proxy address as
%g%s@xxxxxxx and a secondary SMTP proxy address of %g%s@xxxxxxxx
This omits, of course, solving the problem of how to get email sent to
the abc.com domain delivered to the organization that was using the
xyz.com domain. Are you moving the mailboxes from the acquired company
to your Exchange organization?
