Primary Email Address

Hi
We have an SBS 2003 domain
server.sbsserver.local
Receive email via POP Connector through Exchange
my internal email address is dominic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
my external email address is like dominic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I have set up in exchange that my external email address is my Primary
email address.
Is this the standard way to set up a Primary email address as I found
we all had receiving problems if I set up the internal email address
as the Primary?
There are some more questions I will ask later.
