- Is NodeC a standalone (non-clustered) mailbox server? If yes, you cannot use /RecoverCMS on it.
- To be able to use /RecoverCMS, you need to have a cluster setup, Exchange Server 2007 mailbox server role installed (using commandline I believe, which separates the process of Exchange installation and CMS creation), and CMS not created (essential, skip the second step you would normally perform after Exchange installation - i.e. create CMS.. .).
- You can use Move-Mailbox Configonly option in such a scenario, afaik

I have a SCC cluster with NODEA and NODEB that make up EXCLUS. I am
following the walkthrough at this link.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738150(EXCHG.80).aspx
I have successfully enabled SCR to NODEC.
NODEC has the Mailbox Server Role installed on it, not Active or
passive role.
I shutdown NODEA and NODEB and attempted to bring NODEC online. Here
is the process and problem.
Enable-StorageGroupCopy EXCMS1\SG1 -StandbyMachine NODEC
Enable-StorageGroupCopy EXCMS1\SG2 -StandbyMachine NODEC
Enable-StorageGroupCopy EXCMS1\SG3 -StandbyMachine NODEC
This goes great, now i run this command, where IP is old clustered IP
Setup.com /RecoverCMS /CMSName:EXCLUS /CMSIPAddress:192.168.5.1
This errors out and I get this in the setup logs.
