Hi.  I tracked an incoming message.  It was successfully delivered to
a mailbox.  However, the owner of the mailbox never saw the message.
I can't find the message!

Here's my environment:
    - Server:     Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Standard
Edition
    - Client:      Outlook 2003 Service Pack 3
I have an SMTP Filter that handles incoming spam and viruses on a
separate box.  The SMTP filter then passes all "kosher" incoming mail
to the Exchange server.  Therefore, I'm not running any spam or anti-
virus agents on the Exchange Server itself.  On the client side, I'm
using AVG Anti-Virus 7.5.

I know that the message got past the SMTP filter, because I tracked it
in the Exchange logs.  Here are the transactions:
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Message submitted to Advanced Queueing
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advanced Queue
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Message Categorized and Queued for routing
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Message Queued for local delivery
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP: Message Delivered locally to
su...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
12/11/2007 2:35 PM SMTP Store Driver: Message Delivered Locally to
Store to su...@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Susie is the owner of the mailbox, and she never saw the message.  I
checked her Deleted Items folder, and it wasn't there.  I tried Tools -
Recover Deleted Items, but the message wasn't in the list of
recoverable deleted items.

I have the Internet Message ID of the message.  Is there a way I can
use the Message ID to do a global search in the Private Information
Store?

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Bharat and Michael both had excellent suggestions.

I forgot to mention that I created a "Search Folder" to show all
messages within Susie's entire mailbox from the recipient that sent
the message. This didn't dredge up the message from 12/11/07.
Because I used a "Search Folder" I didn't bother messing with views or
rules as my understanding is that the Search Folder will list messages
that meet the criteria without regard to views or subfolders. If I'm
incorrect in my assumption, please let me know.

I'm wondering if Susie accidentally dragged the message out to a
public folder. We have quite a few public folders. Is there a way I
can do a global search on all public folders? Unfortunately, the
"Search Folder" option doesn't appear to allow me to search the public
folder tree.

Thanks,
Van
