I replied earlier, but its been over an hour now and still dont' see
my post so i'm not sure if it worked so forgive me if its a duplicate
post.
The probelm I am facing with the send as feature, is that all mail
sent, is displayed to the recipient as:
person1 sent on behalf of person2, they do not want that. The person2
account is set up in Exchange as a regular mailbox. In my Exchange
profile in Outlook I setup an HTML account with person2's username/
password. I can see folders and receive mail fine.
When you go to send a message you can then select which account you
are sending as. When I select the person2 account and try to send to
someone not in our GAL it sits in MY outbox (not person2s outbox). I
do get an error "!Task 'person2@xxxxxxx' - Sending' reported error
(0x800CCC33): 'Access to the account was denied. Verify that your
username and password are correct. The server responded
'Forbidden'.' Person2 has full rights to my mailbox (which I
thought would fix the issue).
Another interesting tidbit is that if I send a message as person2 to
my self and to my personal email address, I will receive the one that
stays within our Exchange servers, but not to my home email account.
Person2 does not get a reject notice, I do receive one as the
administrator that "550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for
external@xxxxxxxxxxxx
My only other thought is that Exchange knows that this account is
using my outbox and that I could be "spoofing" person2s address and
will not deliver outside our domain.
If I login as person2 and use Outlook or OWA everything works, so I
know its not blocking my email address. Unfortunatly using OWA or
logging off as person1 and on as person2 to send email are not
options! They need to be able to do this within their exiting Outlook
account.
Any further assistance you can give me would be appreciated.
