I had a situation yesterday with my Exchange 2003 SP2 server. A user
sent a 128 MB attachment to all 250 employees. Sure enough, the
transaction logs started growing out of control and performance
grinded to a halt.
Can someone explain to me why a 128 MB attachment to 250 users would
generate more transaction logs that a 100 KB attachment to 250 users?
I understand that Exchange uses "single instanc estorage." The
database size did not increase. It was just the logs.
I have resolved the problem, but I wanted to understand the growth in
the logs better.
