Re: BES Blackberry receiving messages that Outlook does not

The one other possibility is that the BES is confused about mailbox folders
and is moving the messages elsewhere in the mailbox. We had that happen
once, ages ago, and I think it was fixed by rebooting the BES. Have you done
a search through all the mailbox folders for the missing messages?

Hi Peter and thanks for the suggestion.

The senders are definitely sending to his email address because they are
showing on both the gateway and exchange server logs as normal, so the
message definitely gets to the recipient's mailbox. The mystery is what
happens to the messages after the BES server has sent a copy of the
message
to the handheld. It is like the BES server is deleting the message from
the
mailbox after it has been delivered.
I don't know if this is relevant, but the user has also attempted to
forward
the message received onto the handheld back to himself to try to get it
into
Outlook without success.

Does this make any sense to anyone?

Thanks,

Graeme

It might be that those certain senders are sending to your people's PIN
addresses rather than their regular email addresses.

At least one user in our organisation does not appear to get some
messages
in
Outlook that do get to his Blackberry handheld.
Our mail server is 2003 Small Business Server R2 SP1 with Exchange SP2.
Our
BES is version 3.6.7.12. There is no spam (or other) filtering on the
Exchange server - all filtering is done on the relay server at our
gateway.
I cannot see any pattern as to which messages are not appearing in
Outlook,
and there are no rules set up either server side or client side in
Outlook,
apart from the junk filtering that is built in to Outlook. It does
seem
to
only occur with particular senders though.
If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them!

many thanks
