Mails stuck in SMTP queue until Force Conenction.

Hi.
My setup is as follows:
Single Exch 2003 server forwarding mails to two Microsoft SMTP-relay servers in DMZ (behind WatchGuard FW) installed with GFI MailSecurity, using ip-addresses for delivery.
Sometimes the outbound mails get stuck in the SMTP Connector Queue in 10-40 min, or until I force the connection in which case they are delivered without any problems.
The addition queue information states that: "The specified network name is no longer available."
When I realize I am having the problem it is possible for me to make a telnet connection without any problems to my relay servers.
The problem is with both relay servers.
I have specified the retry levels on the SMTP virtual server properties to: 2, 5, 7 and 10 min. but apparently this has nothing to do with it as the emails still doesn't get relayed. Anyone that knows of any retry timeout option I can set for these mails to be send. Or know of any issues that can cause this behavior.
Thanks in advance
Jesper H.
