create New Mailbox but not enabling it

Hi again,
Our current set up is we're slowly merging folks off our existing unix mail system on to exchange..
We're already set up with active directory etc and have a few people already using exchange exclusively..
The way im migrating people across at the moment is having the unix server forward mail to %m@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx when ever their %m@xxxxxxxxxx email comes in. Which forward their mail internally to the exch box itself
So in exchange ive got 2 recipient policies set up for new users, so the user can accept mail for @domain.com and @exchserver.domain.com (so the internal forwarding works)
Is there a way I can enable all our domain users with mailbox properties, but not have them *enabled*?
Just so i can get everyone on the exch system, but then enable each mailbox when we're ready to migrate them off the unix box
Because the problem Ive got at the moment is,
If i create a new mailbox and link it to someones AD account, it seems to be live..
So anyone emailing that user from an exchange account it will accept it since the user has a mailbox.. but the user *hasnt* been migrated off the old server yet.
I cant seem to remove the @domain.com alias from the new users (which would stop existing users emailing them direct via exchange)
Im trying to set it so that the new users are mail enabled, but not active (if that makes sence)
I hope it sort of makes sence..
Our domain is set up as an internal relay, so users who are on exch, it will accept mail for them, but those not on exch yet it will forward to our unix server (and deliver the mail to their imap accounts there)
so yeah if i create a new user, exch see it as theyre the final destination for the mail.. so im trying to make it so it doesnt accept mail for them until the user is "migrated" and enabled..
Gee i hope that makes sence..
Cheers
Spyro
