Re: Exchange 2007 not sending to some domains

I had already turned off all proxy checking on my firewall. The
strange thing is that e-mails without attachments (which includes a
logo in the signature) are getting through just fine. Only e-mails
with attachments are not reaching their destination and timing out.
Thanks for the help,

Do you have a firewall that might be doing SMTP inspection, such as a Cisco

I am actually not being blocked by the other servers. I telnetted
into the servers I was having a problem with, and was able to send
messages to the postmasters manually.
After sniffing the traffic, it turns out that the exchange server is
not properly sending the <cr><lf>.<cr><lf> at the end of a message.
Does anybody know why it wouldn't send this to just some servers? The
only other thing I have to go on right now is that the mail I am
unable to send always contains attachments. In fact if I send a mail
in txt format with no attchments, it goes through sucessfully.
Thanks,

Ask the postmasters of the domains that are blocking you why they are.

Ed,
Thanks for responding. I've looked into all of the issues you
mentioned. My IP (static) and/or domain is not currently on any
blacklist, and the PTR record is correctly returning my mx record when
the IP is queried. There is also no anti-spam software on my machine
to interfere with sending the e-mail. Or, correct me if I am wrong,
but do you mean that there is a spam filter on the other server that
is blocking my outgoing mail?
I am stumped. I am thinking that it still might have to do the MTU
size, but at this point I am grasping at leaves.
Thanks,
Grant Fisher

This is likely due to the remote host blocking your server because it

I hope somebody has seen this before, as I am just about ready to
give
up.
My exchange 2007 server is having problems sending to some domains,
but not most. Scouring the logs, this is what turns up:
xxx.67:25,*,,attempting to connect
xxx.67:25,+,,
xxx.67:25,<,220 recp.com ESMTP ,
xxx.67:25,>,EHLO sending.com,
xxx.67:25,<,250-recp.com,
xxx.67:25,<,250-PIPELINING,
xxx.67:25,<,250-SIZE 20240000,
xxx.67:25,<,250-ETRN,
xxx.67:25,<,250 8BITMIME,
xxx.67:25,*,28323,sending message
xxx.67:25,>,MAIL FROM:<fis...@xxxxxxxxxxx> SIZE=419952,
xxx.67:25,>,RCPT TO:<marti...@xxxxxxxx>,
xxx.67:25,<,250 Ok,
xxx.67:25,<,250 Ok,
xxx.67:25,>,DATA,
xxx.67:25,<,354 End data with <CR><LF>.<CR><LF>,
--much later--
xxx.67:25,-,,Remote
There are no other errors in the smtp logs. I have tried disableing
the TCP offload engine as I read in another post, and that didn't
work. Like I said, I have only seen this from mail going to three
domains.
The queue is showing this error: "451 4.4.0 Primary target IP
address
responded with 421 4.4.2 Connection dropped".
The mail is eventually returned to the sender after it times out.
For
what it is worth, the 2003 server is behind a Watchguard Firebox.
If anybody has any ideas, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks,
Grant Fisher
