Possible issue Exchange 2007 SMTP problem

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I don't know if this problem could be creating by Exchange 2007. First of
all, let me start by saying that my two Exchange 2007 servers are accepting
email from the internet. ExchangeBPA tool does not pull any outstanding
issues up.

Here is our problem:
We have a VMS system (uses Multinet - from Process Software), when we
try to send any email through the VMS system it is padding an extra domain
to the recipent email address. For example, if the username email is
username@xxxxxxx , the rejection from the VMS postmaster NDR is
username@xxxxxxxxxxx

On the two exchange 2007 servers I cannot see anything in the SMTP log
files.

Would Exchange 2007 SMTP pad the extra .edu onto the email address.

On our Exchange 2007 FE server we are at Update # 4

Thanks in advance.
