I've never seen this before.

Our ERP system, Unix based, sends out all kinds of automated messages
during the day. They look to be just plain text emails, no special
formatting. Up until now they used an Ex2k3 front-end server to do all
the
relaying. All is good.

Looking like plain text message isn't the same as /being/ a plain
text message. Application writer make all kinds of assumptions about
email, like putting a MIME header in the message header but leaving
out any MIME body parts, or not terminating the MIME boundary. E2K3
(and its predecessors) were amazingly lax about accepting junky MIME
messages. E2K7 probably is maore picky about what it does with those
messages.
