So. Have a nice RAID1 pair for the OS and Exchange. Throw the other
three disks in the bin or something and use the Clariion for your logs
and stores.
The problem that you will encounter is that the Clariion has to be
carved up in all sorts of wasteful ways so your SAN people might get a
bit antsy about you coming to the party late and asking for lots of
RAID but not necessarily that much usable. I assume your box is new
enough to have an iSCSI capability so you don't have to lash out on
HBAs but even if you did it would be worth it.
You'll also be able to use (a little bit) the Exchange aware backup on
the storage platform although, since you weren't involved in the
design it probably wasn't purchased and there isn't budget to buy it
now.
Yeah, I'm sensing a communications failure in this whole process at
your place and you're the guy who's being made to suffer.
